Insights from the faculty

  • Virtual collaboration

    Nora Grasselli

"Virtual work is the scenery for the New Normal. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we must collaborate, lead and follow in a virtual environment – where we are often misunderstood by our counterparts, feel sabotaged by technology, and miss targets. I explore with the participants of the New Horizons Program how virtual work can come to be successful, efficient and enjoyable."

    Nora Grasselli
    Program Director, ESMT Berlin

  • Selling virtually

    Johannes Habel

"Selling virtually rather than face-to-face is the new normal. However, virtual encounters make it much harder to develop a deep customer understanding, grab customers’ attention, and convey your value proposition. In this session, we discuss how to overcome these challenges. We share best practices and explore latest research findings on how to be effective when selling virtually."

    Johannes Habel
Visiting Lecturer, ESMT Berlin and Associate Professor, Bauer College of Business, University of Houston

  • Entrepreneurial mindset

    Martin Kupp

"Entrepreneurship is an uncertainty competence that describes the process of creating new value in the face of high uncertainty. Any entrepreneur today must develop an uncertainty competence if they want to succeed in business. Those skills are a fundamental part of management education."

    Martin Kupp
Visiting Professor, ESMT Berlin and Associate Professor for entrepreneurship and strategy, ESCP Europe

  • Macroeconomic perspectives

    Jörg Rocholl

"Do we have a crystal ball to look into the future? No, but we can examine the effects of the current disruption for companies, industries, and countries, which are accelerated by the pandemic crisis, as well as geopolitical shifts to develop possible scenarios for future economic growth."

    Jörg Rocholl
President and Professor of Finance, ESMT Berlin

  • Peer coaching

    Andreas Bernhardt

"Peer coaching fosters personal & professional connections for mutual support in organizations. It provides a great way for leaders to unlock the potential of their teams and organizations and to practice coaching on a daily basis while cascading it down from managers to employees."

    Andreas Bernhardt
Executive Development Advisor and Lead Coach, ESMT Berlin
